Hi iam Katherine, a psychologist and a hobbyist artist that lives in Greece.
My music taste is almost entirely Rammstein but i also listen to Bring me the Horizon, the old Hatari and Boards of Canada. My main "hobby" ,if u count it as that, other than art are video games. There are video games that were lifechanging to me and inspiring for my art that i dont really replay like classic Pathologic, Disco Elysium and Fallout 1 and those that i play casually for fun, like the old Assassins Creeds, Fallout New Vegas, the sims 3 etc etc (my game tastes are pretty basic honestly). I am also getting into isometric games bc instead of relying on graphics, they use art style and imagination which i find strangely more immersive. Fave ones are probably Wasteland 2 and the Expendition series.
Now i draw a comic style story but iam not a crazy comic fan, mostly bc the stories end up being either uninteresting or very long with lot of volumes to the point i lose investment lol. So no recommendations from me on that department
When others ask me for specific inspirations behind my art, idk what to tell them because they are everchannging. For example, iam quite impressionable and i might see some random pinterest art or photograph and make up a whole illustration idea from it. I would say my favourite artist since forever is Gustav Klimt. Something about the characters residing in abstract geometric backgrounds does things to my brain. Regarding storytelling, the piece of work i found more inspiring is Vermis I and II by Plastiboo mostly because i love worldbuilding, but also because i like video games. The story is what you make of it and the creativity is the main focus of this "gamebook". Tbh it gives me ideas on how to present my own world building.
Other than that, i use cultural references in my work and i generally like greek folk art, especially pottery, cuisine and clothing. Also the human anatomy and biology is a strong leitmotif
